Privacy policy
Rumo Recap turns links you share into notes. This page says, in plain words, what we keep in order to do that, what we never keep, who helps us run the service, and how you get your data out or gone.
Who we are
Rumo Recap (“Rumo”) is operated by Alphors (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions about privacy go to zuraiz@alphors.com.
The short version
- We keep your email, the links you save and the notes made from them. Never the video itself.
- Before any link is sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini), we ask for your explicit consent.
- No tracking, no ads, no advertising SDKs. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- You can delete a single save, or your whole account and everything in it, from the app or the web at any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to sign you in (with a one-time link, or a password if you set one) and to reach you about your account.
- The links you share with Rumo (a reel, a thread, a video, a page), plus the caption, title and author shown publicly with that link. When you share from your iPhone, Rumo opens the shared page once on your phone, out of sight, to read that public text, the same way a browser shows it. For a short reel or video, it also takes the sound the page plays (up to two minutes) and sends it with the link, so the AI can hear what is said. That sound is used once to write your note and is never stored.
- A notification token, only if you allow notifications, so we can tell you when a note is ready. Turn this off any time in Rumo’s Settings or your phone’s settings; signing out removes it.
- The notes and transcripts we generate from those links: the summary, key points, lists and any text transcript of the public content, which together make up your note.
- Your folder and stash choices: which folder you accepted, changed or skipped, the lines you highlighted, and the simple filing rules Rumo writes from those choices. You can see and delete every rule.
- Reports you send about a note (the reason you picked and any details you typed), so we can review it.
- Basic logs: the kind of device and browser, approximate region from the IP address, timestamps and error reports, kept briefly so the service runs and so we can fix what breaks.
What we never collect
We never download or store the video, image or audio file itself. Rumo reads the link and the public text around it (caption, title, transcript where one is public) to write the note, keeps the link so the original is one tap away, and keeps the note. The media is never kept on our servers.
We do not read your contacts, photos, location or anything else on your device beyond the link you share.
AI processing and your consent
Notes are written by Google Gemini, an AI service. Before the first link you save is sent anywhere, Rumo shows you what will be shared and asks you to agree. Nothing is sent to Gemini until you do.
When you save a link, we send Gemini the link and its public text (caption, title, public transcript) and receive the note back. We send nothing else about you: not your email, not your other saves, and no media file. Nothing you save is sold or used for ads.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting the saves you no longer want processed, by deleting your account (see below), or by emailing zuraiz@alphors.com. Once withdrawn, no further links from you are sent to Gemini.
Why we process it
To provide the service you asked for (our contract with you): sign you in, make the note, suggest a folder, keep your library in sync across the web and the app, and serve it to the AI tools you connect. Sending links to Gemini relies on the consent described above. To keep the service secure and working (our legitimate interest), we keep short-lived logs. We send account emails such as sign-in links; we do not send marketing email.
Who helps us run it (processors)
We use a small number of service providers, each bound by a data-processing agreement:
- Supabase for the database and sign-in, hosted in the European Union region. This is where your email, links, notes, folders and rules live.
- Vercel hosts the web app and the API, and sees the request logs described above.
- Google Gemini generates the note from the link and its public text, as described above.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on the web app; your browser requests them from Google, which sees your IP address as part of that request.
No tracking, no ads, nothing sold
Rumo has no ads and no advertising or analytics trackers, on this site or in the app. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who can see your saves
Your saved content is accessible only to your signed-in account and to the API keys you create yourself (for example to connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor over MCP). Each key reads only your library, can be revoked by you at any time in Settings, and is never shared with anyone. We do not look at your notes except to review a note you reported, or to fix a problem you have asked us to look at.
Reporting a note
If an AI-generated note is inaccurate, offensive or harmful, open the note and choose Report (in the app or on the web). Pick a reason and, if you like, add details. We review reports and use them to improve how notes are made. You can also email zuraiz@alphors.com.
How long we keep it
- Your saves, folders and rules stay until you delete them, or until you delete your account.
- Deleting a save (open the note, then Delete) removes the note, the stored link and any transcript for it.
- Request and error logs are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all of its data at any time, in any of these ways:
- In the iPhone or Android app: Settings → Delete account.
- On the web: sign in, then Settings → Delete account.
- By email: write to zuraiz@alphors.com from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it for you.
Deletion in the app or on the web is completed immediately: your account, email, saves, notes, transcripts, folders, rules, stashed lines, reports and API keys are removed from our database. Server logs age out within 30 days. Email requests are handled as soon as we have confirmed the request came from the account’s address. See Delete your account for the step-by-step.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to object to some processing. You can export your notes from Settings as Markdown or JSON, and delete anything from the app or the web. For anything else, email zuraiz@alphors.com. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Rumo Recap is not for children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has created an account, email zuraiz@alphors.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
Your library is stored in the European Union. Some of our processors (Vercel, Google) may process data in other countries under standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page, move the effective date, and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Smaller wording fixes may happen without notice.
